Merry Christmas from your Heywood and Middleton Lib Dem Team!6.01.00pm GMT Thu 18th Dec 2008
Everyone at Heywood and Middleton Lib Dems would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas, and a safe and prosperous New Year. Wera Hobhouse, Parliamentary Candidate for Heywood and Middleton summed up the year: "The Liberal Democrats have had a very busy year in Heywood and Middleton. My colleagues and I have been working hard across the constituency, and we have had lots of successes in helping out local communities." "Most of the year has been dominated by economic news, and this is set to continue into next year. There are people across the region tragically losing their jobs, and we are all having to tighten out belts this Christmas. We can only hope that the recession is over with as soon as possible, but the Liberal Democrats will continue to lobby the Government to help those people being made unemployed, and those on modest salaries that are really struggling." "May I just take this opportunity to wish you all the best at Christmas, and I hope the New Year is a happy one for the people of Heywood and Middleton. I look forward to representing you and helping you with any problems again next year!"
