Welcome to the website for Heywood and Middleton Liberal Democrats. My colleagues and I work hard throughout the year to help residents with any problems they may have. From this website you can contact myself or other Liberal Democrat Councillors in the area, and you can keep up to date with what we are doing.
Best wishes,
Middleton Tapestry Success
Thu 3rd Dec 2009
Middleton's Bayeux Tapestry - three large tapestries totalling 24 ft that chronicle the history of Middleton through its buildings, businesses and organisations - is finally expected to come home. The painstaking work from 60 volunteers was first started in the mid 1990s and completed for the Millennium celebrations. The tapestries were displayed for a short time in the old Middleton Civic Centre, but then have been kept in storage in Rochdale ever since.

Bamford Residents Can Finally Cross With Safety
Sun 3rd May 2009
The construction of a much-needed pedestrian crossing on a busy Bamford Road is now complete. Local residents called for a crossing because of the difficulties in getting to Bamford Primary School and local shops across the busy Norden Road. Local Councillors William Hobhouse and Andrew Abbott took up the issue 3 years ago and secured funding from the Rochdale Township for the traffic lights and crossing to be installed.
